Meoto yunomi teabowl set with dry chestnut exterior and matte satin white interior. I prefer to use a white glaze for the interior in order to see the strength of the tea. The lip of this piece is left unglazed and will show use over time. Fired to Cone 7.

A meoto yunomi is a set of two wedded or married teabowls, with each piece designed to work (and play) well with the other. They are intentionally different in design and scale, and reflect the need for a couple to retain their own spirit and sense of self. Traditionally, the larger cup symbolizes the "husband" and the smaller cup the "wife" and the sets were gifted to newlyweds. I think we all can agree that these traditional roles have evolved, so please feel free to use these as you like!
